Over the years, undergraduate English majors have undertaken a wide range of activities, some in cooperation with teachers, some on their own, including writers' groups and an undergraduate newsletter. Activities are announced on the English bulletin board on the fourth floor of Ballantine Hall, and further information can be obtained in the English Advising Office (BH 442). English majors also take part, of course, in many other departmental, university, and community activities, including poetry and fiction readings, lectures, film series, dramatic and musical performances, and art exhibits. The Academic Counselor and the Director of Undergraduate Studies, in Ballantine 442, are always glad to inform students about ongoing activities, and to help interested students undertake new activities.
