Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Campus and Student Life Web Sites (Jan-March 2004)
IUPUI is a research university located in Indianapolis, Indiana that is a partnership by and between Indiana and Purdue Universities, with IU as the managing partner. The UXG team provided usability consultation and user testing from a student perspective of the campus Web site.

The Student Life Web site provides information to current students regarding places to go, things to do, and organizations to join on campus and throughout Indianapolis. The UXG team also provided usability consultation and user testing to help provide recommendations for enhancements to this Web site.

Knowledge Base (Feb-May 2004)
The Indiana University Knowledge Base is a database of over 9,000 answers to information technology questions, and received over 10.5 million hits last year. The functionality and scope of the Knowledge Base have increased tremendously over the last few years. Knowledge Base documents now function as source material for a variety of online information services and help systems, including the Support and Services section of the new UITS Web space.

While much of the content of the Knowledge Base still comes from Support Center consultants, more and more information now comes from other departments across all eight IU campuses and from users worldwide. The Knowledge Management team dedicates over 500 editor/programmer hours each week to Knowledge Base maintenance: revising texts, building scripts to enhance maintenance, adding links, building better interfaces, etc.

The User Experience Group helped the Knowledge Base Management team with the demands of both this expanded role and the greater variety of content sources, by developing interface improvements for their online document management system.
