Time Information Management Environmnet (TIME) (Jan-Feb, 2005)
TIME is an automated system for collecting time and attendance data for Indiana University's biweekly-paid staff and electronically feeding this information into the payroll system at the end of each pay period. Employees, supervisors, and payroll processors use it to keep track of time worked, as well as schedules, and (optionally) business rules, such as lunch and break rules. The User Experience Group helped TIME staff develop, deploy and analyze a user survey to help inform design decisions for improvements to the system.Furthermore, the UXG provided usability and accessibility recommendations for future iterations of the system.
Bloomington Hospital and Healthcare System (Feb-March, 2005)
The Bloomington Hospital & Healthcare System (BHHS) website is a resource for patients
and families to find health and medical related information on the web. The site provides a
variety of features including tools to help consumers find a doctor, locate a support group,
view career opportunities, and obtain information concerning classes offered. User testing involving fourteen subjects was conducted for the BHHS team to help explore opportunities to improve
the website and also to incorporate a common look and feel for the website of the Bloomington Hospital Orange
County facility.
Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association (June-July, 2005)
The Indy.org website maintained by Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association (ICVA) is a resource for travelers and visitors to find a wealth of information on the web about the Indianapolis area. A new design for indy.org had been recently introduced, and usability testing was conduced to determine if the new site adequately highlighed features that visitors use most often and find helpful.
Indianapolis Marion County Public Library (Aug-Sep, 2005)
The Indianapolis Marion County Public Library (IMCPL) website offers a variety of information and services to the community. Users can locate information concerning upcoming events, job openings, and community resources, as well as searching the online catalog for books, magazines, videos, etc. As a part of the effort in introducing a new look and feel for the site, UXG conducted three design critique sessions and a heuristic evaluation on the proposed design.
