Match Your Gift

Matching Grant Opportunities

We have special matching opportunities during the 2013-2014 campaign. Through a grant from the Indiana Association of United Ways funded by the Lilly Endowment, out community can receive match dollars in a variety of ways . . .

Vanguard Leadership Match

Dollar-for-dollar match for all:

  • increases in existing Leadership gifts: Silver by 10%; Benjamin Harrison, Platinum, and Gold by 5%.
  • new donors who pledge $1,000 or more as individuals or partners.
  • existing donors who increase their pledge to $1,000 or more as individuals or partners are matched for the increase.

Young Leadership Match

  • New Young Leadership Givers who pledge $500 or more as individuals or partners earn one dollar match for every two dollars donated.

Loyal Leadership Match

  • Loyal contributors who have given to United Way for at least five years can extend the impact of their gift. The grant will match $.50 for every dollar increase for gifts over $100.

The Vanguard Leadership Giving Program

What is the Vanguard?

The Vanguard is the Leadership Giving Program within the United Way campaign. Vanguards make an important personal investment in our community by pledging at the Silver Level ($1,000-$2,499), Gold Level ($2,500- $4,999), Platinum Level ($5,000-$9,999), or Benjamin Harrison Level ($10,000 and up).

Members of the same household may combine their gifts to participate in the Vanguard program. Also, gifts that are matched by an employer will be recognized in the Vanguard program if the total gift is $1,000 or more.

How are Vanguard gifts made to United Way?

Vanguard donors use the standard United Way campaign pledge form and may use any of the methods United Way offers to make their gift. Contributions can be made through payroll deduction, direct billing, ACH withdrawls, cash or checks, or through the donation of stocks.

Can a Vanguard contribution be designated?

Although all donors are encouraged to give to the Community Action Fund in order to support the widest array of services in the community, any individual contribution can be designated to a United Way member agency or donor choice agency. Please follow this link for more information. Member agencies are in capital letters on the donor choice listing.

How are Vanguards recognized?

Unless a Vanguard donor chooses to remain anonymous, they will be listed in the Annual Vanguard Roster and the United Way Annual Report. The donor's professional affiliation is also listed (optional). From time to time, United Way volunteers host special events to acknowledge the important role Vanguards play in the general United Way campaign and our community.
