Dave has been an Associate General Counsel since 2007. His areas of primary focus are employment law, student affairs, athletics, and risk management.

Before joining the counsel's staff, Dave was a senior associate in the Labor and Employment department at Dinsmore & Shohl in Cincinnati. Preceding his career in the law, Dave held professional positions in higher education, serving as an Assistant Rector (Residence Hall Director) at Notre Dame, as the Director of Student Activities and Greek Life at Centre College, and as the Assistant Director of the Student Center and Student Activities at Quinnipiac College.

Dave graduated from DePauw University with a B.A. in political science and earned an M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame School of Law. In 2011, Dave completed the Harvard Negotiation Institute and holds a Certificate in Public Policy Mediation from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Dave was the 2010-2011 Recipient of the Dean's Award for Exceptional Contributions to the Quality of Student Life, Indiana University. He is an adjunct faculty member in both the Maurer School of Law and the School of Education at IU Bloomington.
