Vietnamese Interacting as 1 (VIA-1) Conference
Hi All,

In the past IU VSA has attended the annual 'Vietnamese Interacting as 1 (VIA-1) Conference' and we are looking to get a large group together this year to represent Indiana University on Apr 3rd-5th. This is not a Vietnamese exclusive trip, like our organization anyone can participate!

What is it?
VIA-1 is a large exciting annual event bringing young leaders of all backgrounds from all over the country together. Participants come together to collaborate in workshops, network, make new friends, and have fun throughout the weekend. This year it is hosted by Northwestern University VSA in Evanston, IL by Chicago!

The Costs:
There is a $50 registration fee (before March 15th, $70 after!)  which includes:
  • Admission to VIA-1 Conference - workshops, speakers, & all materials
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch, and banquet dinner on Saturday & breakfast on Sunday)
  • VIA-1 t-shirt
Additional cost this weekend include:
  • 2 Nights of Hotel - Likely $40-60/person
  • Splitting Gas - No more than $15
  • Meals on Friday and Sunday
  • Personal, shopping, miscellaneous spending money.
If you are very interested in going, but the expenses are a pressing issue contact John Nguyen (info below) and we will see if we can work something out.

Details of information, schedule, and registration about VIA-1 can be found on these sites:
Official via1 site
Official via1 facebook

We would be leaving for Evanston/Chicago Friday afternoon and returning to Bloomington on Sunday. We are planning on having multiple drivers so we will accomadate to everyone's schedule.

Look over all the information and if this looks like something you or a friend would like to be a part of or if you have any questions send an email to or contact John Nguyen ASAP. Early registration is set to end March 15th and hotels will need to be booked accordingly.

Have a good week and Springbreak.
