Okay, I admit, this is kind of a trick question. While many people believe magnets attract ALL metals, in reality they only attract iron, cobalt, and nickel. Steel contains iron, so it is attracted by magnets. This is a fairly common misconception. Just by testing a magnet on different metal objects, you can see for yourself it doesn't attract ALL of them. However, without knowing what each metal is composed of, this doesn't help you figure out exactly which metals they do attract.
