Siteshare provides an alternative method of accessing a Webshare account.  When used, this service makes it appear as if the account was stored locally on your computer, limiting your need to understand the Webserve environment.  Siteshare provides for delegation of access to appropriate individuals, minimizing the use of group account passphrases.  Account owners are in control of assigning authority to access their Webshare account.  See the User Guide at http://webmaster.iu.edu/tool_guide_info/siteshare/ for more information.
