We had something in common

Gerald Deatsman

I was a member of the IU Class of 1950. In November 1993, Wells was visited in his office. I told him we had something in common. He said, "Oh, what's that?" I replied, "When you were a senior, you had piano lessons from the same teacher I had a generation later, Montana Grimstead." Wells laughed and said "Good old Montana! I hadn't thought about that for a long time." He said he also played the tuba as a student.
