Listened to each student who visited
I was a secretary in Dr. Wells' office from 1958 through 1965. My memories are so many, but I will always remember his once-a-month open house for students to come into his office and chat with him about their problems, ideas, etc. Of course, Dr. Wells could not always solve their problems or accept their ideas, but the fact that he listened was important to each and every student that visited him. All of us who worked for Dr. Wells at that time believe that this open house policy kept calm on the campus during chaotic times on other campuses in the country.
