That sounds like Mother!
In 1960 our family attended many of the functions associated with commencement for my brother, Jim, and sister, Janet. Among those events was a reception at the home of the president. The hostess, of course, was Mrs. Wells, the president's mother. The order that we went through the receiving line was Janet was followed by me, my younger sister, Joyce, and then our mother. As my mother shook hands with Mrs. Wells, the president's mother said: "How I envy you. You have three daughters!"
Nearly 30 years later, I had an opportunity to apply for an administrative position in the chancellor's office. During a brief interview with the chancellor, I told him of the conversation between his mother and my mother. He chuckled softly, beamed and said, "That sounds like Mother!"
