Cohen Award for Best Graduate Prize

This award is given in the honor of the late Dr. Bill Cohen, Professor of the European History. During his career, Dr. Cohen made groundbreaking contributions through his work on French imperial history, colonial encounters, and the development of modern cities, as well as his writings on the Holocaust, the legacy of Charles de Gaulle, and philanthropy. This award is given to encourage continued scholarship among graduate students at Indiana University in the area of Western Europe.

Model EU

The Midwest Model EU gives college students the chance to learn about the workings of the European Union through a hands-on simulation. Every year, more than 160 college and university students meet together in Indianapolis to decide the future of the European Union. Playing the roles of prime ministers & presidents, ambassadors & commissioners, ministers & diplomats, they spend two days haggling over policy, resolving disputes, building compromises, and charting the course of European unity. WEST supports transportation for students to this event annually.

The WEST general foundation fund allows us to support student activities and community through a variety of activities such as providing refreshments at speaking events.
