2007 Summer Teacher Workshop, Incorporating Culture in the Language Classroom: Islam in Europe

WEST wants to help teachers teach their K-12 students about Western Europe. WEST offers a variety of resources to create lesson plans, use interactive technology to connect with Europeans and European experts, and bring cultural items to your classroom.

    A Web resource for Indiana teachers, about Indiana global connections, supporting Indiana Academic Standards in social studies and foreign languages.
  • Outreach World
    A compehensive one-stop resource for teaching international/area studies and foreign languages in the pre-collegiate classroom.
  • Doors to Diplomacy
    The U. S. Department of State is sponsoring the "Doors to Diplomacy" educational challenge--to encourage middle school and high school students around the world to produce web projects that teach others about the importance of international affairs and diplomacy.
  • WEST Movie Library
    The WEST office houses over 600 feature films and 50 documentaries, as well as book titles and periodicals, all covering West European topics. Country publications on Belgium, Cyprus, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Sweden, and Norway are also available.
