Seeing Western Europe Through the Visual Arts

Join us this summer for our fourth annual teacher workshop. Designed for junior high and high school teachers of French, German, and Spanish, this hands-on interactive workshop will guide you in developing lesson plans that provide students unique insights on European cultural identity by exploring the visual arts and cultures of Europe. Indianapolis Museum of Art staff will talk about approaches to viewing art and we will tour the IU Art Museum. We will also have a special presentation by Frank Cammuso, political cartoonist and graphic novelist. Participants will work with fellow language teachers to develop creative and engaging lesson plans. A non-refundable registration fee of $25 will cover your 2-night stay at the IU-Bloomington campus.
- Workshop may be taken for one IU graduate credit hour (scholarships available)
- Certification Renewal Units (CRUs) available
- Registration limited to 45 participants (15 per language group)
- $25 non-refundable registration fee will cover lodging, all materials, meals and snacks
- Travel reimbursement of up to $100 available to all participants
