Do you know that more than eight in ten public radio listeners
have a higher opinion of companies that support public radio? This is
your invitation to join the select companies whose marketing strategy
combines the benefits of advertising with sound public relations, the
Corporate Members of WFIU.
November 9th through 19th is WFIUs 2002 Fund Drive. Every day,
WFIU serves over 40,000 Indiana listeners with twenty-four hours of
locally and nationally produced news and cultural programming. For nine
exciting days each year, we invite our listeners to say thanks with
their financial support. Nearly twenty percent of our budget comes from
member support and over a third of our listeners are givers.
We have learned two valuable lessons over the years: fund drives represent
our best opportunity to reach new members, and most first-time members
cite on-air challenges as their reason for picking up the phone and
pledging. The dollars your company contributes will be used as an incentive
to these new members. We, of course, want you to be a part of the excitement:
We will invite a representative of your company to record a special
message to our listeners to be aired during your challenge period.
Your company will be thanked throughout the fund drive and in special
thank you messages throughout the year.
You will be included for a full year in our monthly program guide, Directions
in Sound, which is mailed to over 3,000 households.
This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your good corporate
citizenship and reach an educated, active, affluent audience. WFIU assigns
challenges to programs on a first-come, first-served basis, so we urge
you to call 812-855-9208 or 800-662-3311. You can also e-mail Marianne Woodruff, WFIU Corporate Development Manager,
at mawoodru@indiana.edu.
