The Vincent and Elinor Ostrom Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis was founded in 1973 by the Ostroms. Over its 40–year history, Workshop scholars have produced important research and taught generations of students about the ways in which governance institutions can be crafted to enhance human well-being, while promoting democratic principles and sustainable resource management. Today, the Ostrom Workshop is home to a vibrant community of interdisciplinary scholars, including professors, graduate students, and visiting scholars from around the world who carry on Vincent and Lin’s mission of improving human understanding of combined social and ecological systems.
