Workshop Research Library

The Workshop Research Library (WRL)at the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis serves as a research resource center for Indiana University faculty and students, as well as hundreds of international visitng scholars. It houses 30,000 books, journals, articles, working papers, reports, and newsletters. The library database, with 68,000 records, contains detailed information on the library materials as well as relevant items available in the Indiana University Libraries, or through Interlibrary Loan.

The library contains the world's largest collection specifically devoted to the commons, common-pool resources (CPRs), and common property. Related subjects include institutional analysis, property rights, collective action, game theory and experimental economics, resource management, commons and social dilemmas, social capital, cooperation, and conflict resolution. This collection contains thousands of research reports and case studies on fisheries, forests, water resources, irrigation systems, land tenure, agricultural systems, indigenous institutions and knowledge, scholarly information and knowledge, social organization, urban commons, global commons, and new commons (such as the Internet, radio spectrum, or genomic data).

The WRL hosts the innovative digital library and international repository: The Digital Library of the Commons (DLC),
The library also maintains the Virtual Library of Common Pool Resources, on the website of the International Association for the Study of Common Property.
