Extracurricular Programs

Horizons expanded

The Wells Scholars Program offers a variety of extracurricular activities on and off campus. Regularly occurring events include a fall cookout for all Scholars and a fall day trip and spring retreat for freshmen Scholars.

Weekend workshops are another opportunity for Scholars to take their learning outside the classroom. Past workshops have explored topics such as:

  • Humanitarian intervention
  • Religious liberty
  • Genetics research
  • Television violence
  • Healthcare reform
  • Energy policy and climate change

In addition, special events throughout the year give Scholars the opportunity for informal interaction with distinguished visitors, IU faculty, and other students.
