Pursuing a Ph.D. in informatics gives students the opportunity to conduct practical and theoretical research at the intersection of computing, science, and society. Ph.D. students in informatics develop skills that will prepare them for careers in academia, government, industry, or the nonprofit sector.
Ph.D. in Informatics candidates work in multiple areas, but they choose a track in which to specialize, including:
Students are required to complete a minor within the Luddy School or an approved minor outside of the school. The minor should relate to the student’s research.
