This program prepares candidates for a career in research and teaching, focused within the area of leisure behavior and its associated inquiry methodologies.

The emphasis is on research related to the student’s specific area of interest in the field of leisure behavior, connections to resident faculty, and an in-depth investigation of a cognate field.

As with most Ph.D. programs, it is individualized to meet each student's personal career goals.
