Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs

About

Whether you're interested in launching a career on Capitol Hill, learning how to manage and motivate people, or protecting the planet, a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs (BSPA) degree equips you with the skills to make a difference. With the O'Neill School's core public affairs coursework, you'll study the basics of policymaking, budgeting, and finance. You'll also pick a major and develop leadership and analytical skills that can be applied to your specific area of interest.

With a major in policy analysis, you'll develop skills to identify, dissect, and improve policy by looking at every side of the story. You'll study everything from finance, economics, and law to national and international policy—graduating ready to launch a career in your hometown, your state capital, Washington D.C., or abroad. You'll also have opportunities to explore global approaches to public policy by studying abroad.

Policy analysis is a math-heavy, quantitative major that uses advanced statistical modeling. Our major introduces concepts and skills at a level you can digest, but at the same time challenges you and advances your abilities.
