Experimental Economics, Public Choice

Professor Walker’s research focuses on the use of experimental methods in the investigation of individual and group behavior related to the provision of public goods and appropriation from common-pool resources. His research has been published in a wide range of academic journals including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, American Political Science Review, Public Choice, Rationality and Society, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Southern Economic Journal, Environmental and Resource Economics, and Experimental Economics. Along with his colleagues Elinor Ostrom and Roy Gardner, he published Rules Games, and Common Pool Resources, University of Michigan Press. Professor Walker is also a recipient of the Indiana University “Student Choice Award,” was selected for participation in FACET (Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching), and was the recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences, James P. Holland teaching award.
