Jiyoung Kim received her Ph.D in East Asian Languages & Literatures from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, specializing in Korean linguistics and Korean pedagogy. She obtained her B.A. in English education at Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea and her M.A. in Linguistics from California State University, Northridge. With the academic background in English education and Korean linguistics, Jiyoung has taught ESL in Korea and Korean language in the U.S. Her teaching and research interests include Korean linguistics, culture, and Korean language pedagogy.
