Background:

The National Public Health Week Conference will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 6-7, 2010. The conference allows public health professionals, students and advocates to network and share ideas. There are two presentation options from which to choose. The conference committee will select a limited number of podium presentations for breakout sessions. Poster presentations will be on the second day of the conference. While new and fresh ideas for a wide range of topics and focus areas are welcome, we especially invite proposals that address the conference theme: “A Healthier American, One Community at a Time” and meet the conference objectives:

  • Explore the foundational skills and knowledge of public health, with an emphasis on relevant applications for current issues
  • Determine strategies for quality improvement and policy change
  • Examine current and future issues and trends in public health
  • Provide for networking and sharing of promising practices
