1. The purpose of review process
The purpose of the review process is to ensure quality, not primarily to accept or reject
manuscripts for publication.
(a) Two reviewers will be selected for each manuscript in any combination of faculty
and graduate students.
(b) First-year graduate students will be encouraged to participate in the review process.
3. Review process
(a) Reviewers will receive a hard copy of the manuscript with a cover letter outlining
expectations and providing a format for the review.
(b) The review must indicate: 1) Publish with minor revision, 2) Major revision needed
& then resubmit to the review process, or 3) Not appropriate for publication.
(c) Reviewers must return both the original manuscripts and their review to the Editorial
Board within 3 weeks.
(d) Reviewers will make specific and constructive comments in the form of a separate written
(e) Additional editorial comments can be made directly on the manuscript.
(f) Destructive comments will not be forwarded to the author.
(g) The Editorial Board will forward the author the manuscript with the reviews, and make
additional specific suggestions for revision.
