The RCCPB’s Mission

  • About Us

Founded in February 2007, the IU Research Center for Chinese Politics and Business (RCCPB) is committed to providing thought leadership on issues that meet at the intersection of Chinese politics and the global world of business. Together with our partners and affiliated faculty, we seek to understand how China’s regulatory environment and political system shape the behavior of and chances for success of Chinese and foreign businesses; how economic conditions and corporate behavior shape Chinese regulatory framework and political institutions; and how China’s international economic engagement affects China herself, her trading partners, and global governance institutions such as the WTO. The Center breaks down traditional boundaries by bringing together scholars from multiple disciplines and by building bridges between universities, stakeholders, and policymakers in the United States, China, and elsewhere.

The Center is housed in Indiana University Bloomington's School of Global and International Studies and works in partnership with the Indiana University Bloomington's School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Indiana University Bloomington’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) is the largest school of its kind. Founded in 1972, SPEA is a world leader in public and environmental affairs and offers the #1 ranked public affairs graduate program out of 272 in the nation (US News). With more than 90 full-time and more than 100 part-time faculty members, SPEA provides international scope, influential research, and focused opportunities for students to pair a comprehensive foundation of knowledge with hands-on experience in the field.
