In Sakai 2.8, how do I import from an archive file?

Note: To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

You can import materials from a supported archive file. To do so:

  1. In the menubar of the relevant site, click Site Info.

Alternatively, from the menubar in My Workspace, click Worksite Setup, check the box next to the site you wish to revise, and then click Edit.

Note: Although you can check multiple boxes, you can only edit information about one site at a time.

  2. Click Import from Archive File.

  3. Click Browse to find the appropriate file on your computer or network, and then click Open.

Note: Filenames that include certain characters cannot be accepted; see Unsupported characters.

  4. Click Import. The system will upload your archive file.

  5. Select the desired items in the "Copy this existing material..." box, and use the move button ( > ) to identify which items to import into your current site.

  6. Click Copy Materials.

  7. Review the confirmation screen and the location the system will place your copied materials.

  8. Click Finish, and then OK.

After the materials have been copied, visit the areas of your site where they were saved. Rename, reorder, edit, or hide and unhide materials as needed.
