Anna Sera

Anna Sera is a PhD student in the sociology graduate program. She earned her BA in Foundations of Education (History of East Asian Education) at Hiroshima University, Japan and MA in International Educational Administration and Policy Analysis at Stanford Graduate School of Education. Her interests include race & ethnicity, immigration and education policy. Her current research focuses on the experience of immigrants in Brazil and Japan and how transnational migration patterns intersects with educational policies and school practices for assimilation and ethnic/national identity formation. She has previous teaching experience at high schools in Japanese, US and Brazilian schools, and also have taught Education and American Culture and Schooling Around the World at IU.
