SUMMER FACULTY SALARY POLICY
(Approved: BFC 12/5/89, Clarified 4/17/90, revised 6/22/11)
A. Faculty should receive a consistent amount of pay for a course based on credit hours or contact minutes.
B. The rate of pay should be increased to a rate comparable to that of other Big Ten universities.
C. The duration of a summer course should be determined by the academic unit offering the course.The standard durations of summer courses are four weeks, six weeks, eight weeks and twelve weeks.
D. Summer salary for one 3-credit course is 11% of base salary during the preceding academic year; for two 3-credit courses, 22%.
